21/04/2006 11:44:30   Rob   Hi guys,
Im in the process of producing a new 4 bolt hubs for my sonett and 95 to allow me to mount vented 900 discs and callipers and also use the wide range of wheels available for the 4 bolt pcd 108 stud pattern. (saab900/9000, ford etc)

I will then have a laser cut bracket to mate up the calliper to the disc and a hose kit to connect it all up.

I have already managed to get a pcd108 drum machined up for the rear - and could get grooved drums made up etc if anyone is interested.

I have enough people interested in 3 or 4 sets (8 hubs) and at this they will be about £170ish each

If I get upto 20 units ie. 10 pairs the price should come down dramatically as most of the cost is in setting up the tooling.

The hubs will be made from hardened steel - NOT ALUMINUM!
Although normal grade steel would be approx £20 cheaper a unit I donít think it is worth the saving and would prefer something really strong

Also because the hubs will be much smaller there will still be a unsprung weight saving which will counter the heavier disc and brake setup.

Ill be doing all the hard work to get everything to fit eg playing with bracket sizes and offsets- but its obviously in my interest to get more hubs made up if possible. Im not a business just an enthusiast!

Let me know if you're interested so I can get numbers together.

Thanks
Rob

21/04/2006 17:12:03   jake   I HAVE A SET OF 900 (PAIR DROP?) WOULD IT MEAN I COULD USE THESE OR SIMILAR? WHAT ABOUT FOULING OF THE INNER WING WHEN ON FULL LOCK IS THERE CLEARANCE IN THE REAR WING AREA IF NOT IS THERE ANY POINT IF YES TO THESE THEN GO FOR IT AND PUT MY NAME ON THE LIST IF IT COMES DOWN IN PRICE I'LL WATCH THIS SPACE
21/04/2006 21:45:58   Rob   you will be able to use any wheels with a pcd of 108mm - so late classic 900 and 9000 wheels will fit.

i will try as many wheels as i can get hold of to see what offset will be best - although i could leave them large and let individuals get them machined down to their liking
22/04/2006 20:59:28   erik   See if I get this right : you're offering a group buy for conversion hubs (only front ?) to run late Saab/ford wheels + vented disks and new callipers ? You have already made up rear hubs, are these on offer too ? Wouldn't it be more interesting to make this a 4 hub deal ?
Anyway, I'm VERY interested to see where this is going and would love some more information

28/04/2006 10:35:56   Rob   yeah - ive got some drums to fit already - with 4 bolt ford/saab fitting - a mate of mine machined them to fit so ill have to ask how long it took him as to the overall cost - but certainly ill put together the 4 wheel set!
