06/01/2004 22:21:43   James   Hello all, My 96 v4 is a standard 1975 anniversary edition with the original carb. I want to tune my carb and I am wondering if anyone has any advice above what is found in the Haynes Manual. Thanks.
06/01/2004 22:28:12   James   ps I don't know if it helps, but I add 'valvemaster' with octane boost...
07/01/2004 08:52:20   Alec   There is not much more you than what Haynes would suggest for a standard carb.
07/01/2004 09:14:02   Alistair   James - best tuning advice is throw the FoMoCo away and replace with a Weber...

The 34ICH Weber does give smoother performance though.

07/01/2004 13:37:16   James   Okay then, a number of questions: Where can I buy a 34ICH Weber? How much does one cost? Is it easy to fit (ie for a non-mechanic)? And, what does 'smoother' perforance actually mean?

2. ask ken/mel. About £100 I recon.
3. yes, very.
4. no coughs, no deadspots followed by jerky full power, no stalls from tickover, rock solid stable quiet tickover, cooler running, less fuel consumption, much easier control for catching up the freewheel without passengers suffering whip lash. Need I go on.

24/01/2004 13:29:56   Paul   Any idea what the jetting is for a Weber 34 ich to fit a standard 96 1498,as I'v just been given a secondhand one to replace the formoco. (Not sure what its off)
