04/11/2002 20:06:19   Tom   Can anyone recommened some good shock absorbers for my 96 V4 1973.
Thanks
05/11/2002 13:54:44   Steve H   If yuo are not fussed, Monroe do a set that can be bought from any motor factors as I think they are common to a number of cars. If you want to uprate, I have had a set of spax adjustables on for a couple of years and have no complaints. I have then dialed up half way and the handling certainly seems more surefooted than our other bog standard 96. The difference can be felt best on high speed motorway interchange curves. In the standard car, things feel precarious at 60 while the uprated car can confidently cruise round at 70 with one hand on the wheel.

14/11/2002 00:42:06   Alistair Philpott   It's a few years ago now, but the last set I used were Monroe Gas and they were superb. May still be available.
24/06/2003 13:18:06   Nick   just fitted a set of Monroe Gas Shox from Highgate, good improvement on dodgy original oil ones but would like to try the AVOs
24/06/2003 14:25:24   Richard   I blew the avos apart(casing blew off) on the Dukeries this weekend, so I guess I will have to get some made with seperate oil res. I will see if Leda or billy's will produce a set when my bank balance is OK.
24/06/2003 16:49:38   Richard   Oh yeh you can fit 99 fronts which include 99 turbo dampers. Fronts are the same length as a Manta B and the rear are the same length as a HB van ( I think? dont hold me to this one ).

24/06/2003 20:02:21   curtis muir   i USED 99 TURBO REARS ON THE FRONT , JUST TAKE IT DOWN A COUNTRY ROAD IT'LL GO ROUND A SIXPENCE AND THE FEEDBACK IS SUPERB, WAS TOLD SAAB SPORT AND RALLY USED THEM
25/06/2003 16:50:08   Mikko   I use orange KYB gas shocks in my "almost daily driver" and they work pretty well. Billsteins are also available: front are same as in 99 and rear ones are front shocks of some Alfa-Romeo (so I've been told). Look at www.speedparts.se.
25/06/2003 18:23:37   John   with reference to the shocks, can anyone please tell me who/where are AVO. Thank you.
