19/08/2005 14:30:33   simon   I went to my Saab dealer today for some oil filters. To find the new batches GM'ed - black and with no mention of Saab anywhere on them - nice / not.

Buy up the blue one's while they remain available!

20/08/2005 14:45:11   Alistair   I still mourn the loss of the "big" oil filters rather than those tiny new ones which look daft on a V4 :-(
20/08/2005 17:20:44   DerekS   Would using the big Ford Pinto ones be permissable? :)
20/08/2005 19:18:20   simon   Big filter also offred far greater surface area for cooling. Only Fram and Saab are 'safe'?
21/08/2005 11:16:15   Alex   The general opinion among Saabers here in Holland was to stay away from Fram filters because of some internal pressure valve they either had or did not have, I don't remember clearly. Anyway, the Fram construction was such that it was possible that the incoming oil could get back into the engine without going through the filter.
