19/12/2005 18:13:40   Andrew   Anyone know of a supplier of old-fashioned leather steering wheel covers to fit the 96 wheel?

22/12/2005 13:42:12   Andrew   Think I've tried Halfords and couldn't find anything large enough and to fit the slim rim - will try again

I'm after a true 70s style stitch-it-on one - can't find anything even via the Google oracle

It was bound around the steering wheel, in the style of handlebar tape. My Dad used them on his old Rovers and Humbers back in the 70's. As far as I can remember they were perforated leather or vinyl and came in Black or Brown. I don't know if they are still available, but one of those would surely do the trick for you. Good luck.
