I have just received my new uprated Oil Pump from the states - it is a Hi Volume Hi Pressure and is bigger and heavier than original.

Whilst looking at the oil pump I notice that the 2 old ones I have are different sizes! the small is from a 67 open deck engine and the middle one is from a 71 eng of unknown origin.

Is this normal? did saab/ford fit different sizes as standard?

I'm assuming the bigger of the original is higher flow as the internal parts are larger?

Left is new Melling M87HV middle id off a '71 96 and the small righthand is from a '67 opendeck sonett
