melle | Posted - 23 Feb 2013 : 15:47:17 Hi all,
I've purchased the domain saabv4.com and I'm planning to make it a complete V4-source from which you can download technical information. Think of the nut & bolt specifications and exchange tables that used to be on Genty's site, S&R handbook, parts catalogue, shop manuals in different languages, technical articles etc. I'm also almost done with drawing all the engine gaskets and Solex carb gaskets to put on the site as .dxf, .ai en .jpg files, so everyone can have their gaskets made locally or just print templates on gasket paper for cutting out the smaller gaskets.
To complete the site I'm looking for the following: - High res scans of a FoMoCo carb gasket set - High res scans of the most commonly used Weber carb gasket sets - High res scan of a genuine/ good brand inlet manifold gasket - Saab V4 Tuning Guide PDF. As far as I know this is a different book from the S&R catalogue that I already have.
Many thanks in advance for your help. Please allow me some time to finish everything.

v4admin | Posted - 18 Jun 2023 : 17:10:17 Same happened to me last year but now switched to https://www.webwiz.net/ which is cheaper, better service and so far no outages unlike the last provider..... |
green96v4 | Posted - 13 Jun 2023 : 20:19:14 no problem, let me know how you make out

melle | Posted - 13 Jun 2023 : 19:51:52 That's very kind of you Matt, thanks! I have about ten domains and five actual websites, ideally looking to move everything elsewhere as a package. Will investigate my options at the weekend (if it isn't too hot!), will keep you posted.

green96v4 | Posted - 13 Jun 2023 : 16:11:20 Melle if I can offer help here (we design a lot of website and have a master hosting account)
We could potentially host your site on our server FOC, my business partner David has some questions about your current hosting, so happy to take this off line to email, but I'd love to help for the good of the community |
melle | Posted - 13 Jun 2023 : 09:46:20 The hosting provider I've been using for 15+ years and who've always been great, has been taken over by a bunch of first class greedy b*st*rds. They've just sent me a ridiculous invoice that I refuse to pay, and I'm going to try and get saabv4.com hosted elsewhere when my current contract expires on the 3rd of July.
Please expect some downtime. Everything is backed up, but I would advise you download everything you think you may need in the coming months. I'll do my best to get the site up and running elsewhere asap, but please bear with me as getting this sorted is not a job I'm particularly looking forward to.

melle | Posted - 26 Jan 2020 : 20:01:04 I keep uploading information to the site bit by bit, but the Technical Information section is still a bit empty. I have a few articles I've written in the past that I intend to publish, but they'll need translating or editing, for which I have no time at the moment. If anyone wants to contribute with tech articles (new or previously published) of which they hold the copyright or get permission for publication on the site, please let me know.
The Saab Enthusiasts magazine has featured quite a few V4 tech articles in the past, perhaps Saab Driver mag as well; I'd be happy to host these on my site if the clubs wish to share them.
I'm also looking for dealer spare parts information and service notes. Dealers got these regular service updates on A4s that could be filed in binders. If you can (let me) scan the contents of your binders(s), or if you want to sell them to me so I can unlock the information for the rest of the community to enjoy, please get in touch.

melle | Posted - 15 Jul 2018 : 10:43:01 I've just added sections with Ford factory manuals (currently only one...) and industrial V4 manuals, hope that pleases the nerds! Feedback and contributions welcome as always.

melle | Posted - 10 Feb 2018 : 15:26:15 My hosting provider will move the site to a new server today so I can use a slightly more modern content management system; hope all goes to plan!

Yellow-sonett | Posted - 08 Feb 2018 : 23:28:24 Melle, I am running Avast. Your website and menus are working normally Thanks for the good work

melle | Posted - 08 Feb 2018 : 22:38:36 I had an issue with a small hack on the website a while ago (see this thread: http://www.saab-v4.co.uk/speedball/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=35413), which resulted in the side bar menus no longer collapsing as they should, because some code had to be disabled. I've just solved the problem; could those of you using anti-virus software please check if it finds my fix acceptable?

melle | Posted - 09 Jun 2017 : 13:30:10 Thanks for the plug. I also have a gearbox jig, never thought of drawing it up, great idea! If you have the parts laser/ water jet cut it's very easy to fabricate. This is why I love the internet!
If anyone else has ideas for DIY plans, or even better: if you want to draw them, you're most welcome to let me know.
