I know that this is a popular choice, so before I order can anyone with this system pse advice any issues / pain-saving tips etc.
Are the kits complete for example, or will I need to supplement with extra hangers / extension sections etc?

The best price seems to be this on ebay:

C&R Enterprises have this on ebay at the moment. They shouldn't be listing the quantity as available if they cannot complete immediately.

Is that on a 96? I have seen that the 95 needs an extension, didn't realise it could also come up short on a 96. One to watch at assembly, thanks for the heads-up.

No hard feelings, I probably wouldn't have had time to fit it just yet anyway!

In the mean time I have treated myself to an anti roll bar that I am going to experiment by cutting down to fit. Should keep me busy!

Hi Andy
Sorry about that,I must have beaten you to it. Not out of the woods yet though one piece was damaged on arrival so waiting for a replacement section.

BTW:
I have a much older Jetex that needs a bit of patching up, might suit someone on this side of the pond.

2stroketoturbo had some listed..if they have one you would be well within your rights to get your money back and order from them instead!
Woody..My local exhaust center had loads of gaskets and I found by taking my old one along and comparing it to what they had on the hangers worked..maybe you could do the same for the ones you want?

The Jetex I bought back in 2008 wasn't easy to fit and is still blowing from the long centre section - it seems to be an inch short. I've tried to get a gas tight fit but then the front pipes hit the body cut outs with vibration and drumming. I've now got the pipe to the conical metal spacer blowing #8801342 its been eaten away by corrosion and no amount of GunGum will seal it.
Time to get a piece of flexy let into the main long piece and have the spacers welded and ground. Thats the negative done, the plus is its a good sound and even with a webber 34ich performance is much better.
PS as pchristry replied new mounting holes for the centre section.

C&REnterprises are local to me (15miles or so). Must be Jetex don't hold a lot of stock. I only bought the back pipe and silencer plus custom parts direct from Jetex to mate to a single port rally system.

What size centre hole was in the manifold flange gaskets, supplied with the exhaust? Jetex don't list them separately. I am after some like the standard item but with 44-46mm hole.

I fitted mine with the car on the ground !? Kit came with everything needed gaskets rubbers clamps the lot. The only thing I had a fight with was the removal of the og hangers for the rear box. Mine where welded on and the jetex system uses bobbins in the mounting holes. Best £200 you'll spend !

You will find the Jetex considerably easier to fit than the standard one, too. TBH, I do not usually like altering any vehicle from the standard bits and bobs, but this is one of the exceptions!

Thanks guys, really appreciate the advice and will get exhaust on order today.

I don't have access to a garage lift, but I do have wheel ramps, axle stands and plenty of big bits of timber, so happy that I can get the car high enough but still level and safe.

Loose fit first is obviously the way ahead!

The exhaust manifold studs are fine - the engine has been in and out three times in the last year alone...

My kit came with everything except the extension needed to fit it to a 95.
See if you can hire a bit of garage space and a ramp for a few hrs..failing that find 4 wheel ramps and get the car as high as possible (SAFELY)..jacking the car up on one side won't work as the exhaust won't hang properly..you will tighten it up and then wonder why it's knocking on the body when it's back on the ground.
It would be worth looking at the exhaust manifold studs..when was the exhaust last off? Do the studs look crisp or is the thread missing?
When fitting my exhaust 1st time the pipe was very closes to the edge of the hole where it passes through the engine bay floor..later the engine came out and when it was re-fitted the pipe lined up properly????
Well worth the effort..you will notice the difference on your 1st drive!

Yes, no problem, though like I say: Don't tighten it right up until until you have everything just where you want it! A bit of fettling and jiggling is to be expected! Its also a LOT easier if you can get the car right up in the air, ie on a ramp.

I did have to drill some new holes in the floor, but my car had a Highgate system on it when I got it, not a standard exhaust. It had also been extensively rebuilt at some point in its history and all the original exhaust mounting holes were missing, so I've no idea how it compares to a standard set-up.
