....baby elephant ears

By pointing them rearwards you will still get the air movement through the bodywork.......

i'll be angling the open part rearwards and downwards, so hope not to get water in...but, nothing ventured....

Those vent covers are venturi's which create a vacuum and draw air through the body cavities as the car moves thus removing condensation.

Thumbs down from me I'm afraid. Seeing your comment about the 900 boot seal not being designed for the job would make me think that you'd prefer the originals. They are a feature of the car and although the Saab badges usually need replacing I've never read of anyone having rust problems with them. They also work but yours may not like being washed by what comes up from a truck when overtaking one on a sodden motorway.

I have a pair of elephant ears. Not brilliant but might clean up.

here's my vent covers (they'll look fine after a few minutes with the grinder)
