I have aquired a shiny new 32/36 DGV but have no idea what settings to start with.

Has anyone experience of this carb on a 1500 engine that can advise. I have no illusions that I will be tinkering around for a while to get optimum setting - that's part of the fun anyway! So just advice on start settings would be helpful.

Engine is a standard 1500 1973 recently rebuilt to standard spec, but with head exhaust apertures opened and flowed to S&R measurements to match Jetex exhaust. I will match the inlet manifold to the heads. Cam is standard.

Thanks

Derek, thanks also.

A few differences between the relevant line and mine, so will keep this as alternate option if it seems unhappy.

Main difference seems to be slightly larger on the primary jet and smaller on primary air ie richer mix which is then balanced out again by a leaner setting on the primary idle jetting. Not knowing a huge amount about carbs, but this would suggest a setting to get a leaner burn at lower throttle without loss of power and excess heating at full throttle...or something!

Wish I knew more about all this!!

Capri 1600GT
32/36 DGV 5A
Choke size 26/27
Aux Venturi 3.50/3.50
Main Jet 1.40/1.35
Idle Jet 0.55/0.60
Idle Air Jet 1.60/0.70
Emulsion Tube F50/F6
Air corrector 1.65/1.60
Pump Jet 0.50
Needle valve 2.00

Splendid! Mine matches all but 2nd Idle jet which is 0.5 rather than 0.6. Certainly worth fitting in current settings to start with.

Thanks TT!

This from my old link to the Weber page on Misab.se but I wasn't able to get to their site. Looks as if they've gone to Facebook and I'm not on that. Managed to get a screen grab after being messed about by Google. Save as jpeg or write it all down in your little black book.

Genty unfortunately doesn't respond to my emails, so the Performance 96 resurrection process is currently on hold... You can still find the page here: http://wayback.archive.org/web/20090709044042/http://www.performance96.co.uk/CarbJets.html

On Genty's old site there was a long list of Weber carbs and the appropriate jets for them. I can't recall if this carb was on there or not, but having that table available again sure would be useful!

Have you got it tucked away somewhere, Melle?

Hi Andy

From the guru - Jack Ashcraft's Fast V4 book he suggests the following as a starting point.

Capri 1600GT
32/36 DGV 5A
Choke size 26/27
Aux Venturi 3.50/3.50
Main Jet 1.40/1.35
Idle Jet 0.55/0.60
Idle Air Jet 1.60/0.70
Emulsion Tube F50/F6
Air corrector 1.65/1.60
Pump Jet 0.50
Needle valve 2.00

I hope this helps. Other than that speak to someone to services webers and they have a lot od knowledge - I will try and find the guy who I bought mine from as I told him what it was for and he tweaked jetting before he sent it out.
