That makes sense, thanks! David sent me scans of the SEC magazine articles, great stuff! I'll email the author to hear what happened with his K-Jet Sonett and 96.

Moving this one from the "for sale" to technical section.

Great! You can email me at saabv4[at]saabv4[dot]com.

Re "the right angle", this image suggesting the injector should aim directly towards the valve is from a K-Jet manual:

I've kept those magazines - deliberately! Happy to scan the articles for you - please pm me your email address.

Does anyone have access to these magazines? I could do with some scans!

As far as I know, K-Jetronic doesn't have an ECU, but KE-Jetronic does. Found this nice overview: http://www.auto-solve.com/mech_inj.htm I have some comprehensive PDF Bosch Jetronic handbooks, if interested send me your email address and I'll forward them.

Me too..i'm sure there is a box of electrics attached to my 8Vturbo's Ktronic system..i will look tomorrow. The warm up valve (choke)is electric..that I know for sure.

Are you sure of that? I'm sure my mother's '73 99 LEA (injection, automatic) had k-jetronic, and there was a box of electronics in the wing to control it.

My thoughts entirely! I have a complete K-jetronic system from a c900i and several spare manifolds to experiment on. Welding on the injector blocks at the right angle and manufacturing a right-angled inlet to mate with the throttle body are the 2 technical challenges to be overcome. For those who rememeber that far back, there was an injected Sonett III at the 2009 IntSaab meet in Holland, followed by a series of articles in successive SEC mags telling us how he did it.

Those manifolds look nicely done. I have had discussions on whether a "single choke" manifold would be okay - restricting the aperture would result in faster airflow and better vaporisation of the injected fuel - maybe? Thoughts on a postcard ....... .

Ah yes, of course you need air!

dont think the carb hole should be filled as you still need to get air into the manifold. The injectors only put the fuel in so air would still enter via throttle bodies in place of the carb. No idea how this would be done but sounds good for some one with more know how in early injection methods.

You'll roughly need injectors, fuel lines, fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, fuel distributor, a system (mechanically or electronically (ecu)) that controls the fuel supply and depending on the system an air mass meter and a couple of sensors. And something to close off the hole for the carb of course (why are they not welded up?). I'm by far not an expert, so you better ask the seller, as it's said in the Danish forum post that he can also supply the rest of the system. Also take a look here: http://www.megasquirt.info/

I doubt if they will sell for that price by the way. I'm not saying they're expensive, but I guess the market for these things is rather small...

I think this is really exciting...

How can it be made to work?
