Jimmys old Saab | Posted - 28 Mar 2017 : 13:11:17 Not had much time to work on the 96 recently but next winter there will be lots happening including work to the now removed engine. I will be cleaning and painting the block, rocker covers and sump anyway; I'm considering getting the flywheel lightened, having unleaded inserts in the head and bigger valves....has anyone had this work done recently? Whom did you use?

RhysN | Posted - 09 Apr 2017 : 05:21:18 I had a long chat with Graham the other day (it was supposed to be a quick call!). A real enthusiast and great to chat with. Very helpful and worth a call in my humble.... |

Just looked up the price on Malbrads website = £654/pair (big valve/hardened seats) plus exchange surcharge. I'll stick to additive too !

UK_Sub | Posted - 29 Mar 2017 : 09:10:01 You're not far away from Graham MacDonald at The Saab Shop (Bromyard) - he can do that engine work for you.

Any decent engineering shop will fit the hardened valve inserts for you, to allow you to run on unleaded, without additives. No point in me telling you where I got mine done, since you seems to be in Gloucestershire, and I'm in Fife.
Malbrad do upgraded heads with bigger valves, and hardened inserts I think.
