The seller doesn't want to post the mirrors to me, he says he doesn't have a bank account for payment (not sure how you survive without one in NL...).

Melle

I'm also missing one of the covers, on one my mirrors of this type.
Proudycakes which side are you missing the cover for?

Mine is missing right side cover, though the covers may be symmetrical.
Buy the pair Melle, and Proudycakes and I will take one each!

Yeah I have always thought they were the same but the VW mirrors appear to have exposed screws and the Saab mirror has a little cover that goes over the screw heads. One of mine has the cover missing, which is why I need a new mirror, or even a smashed one would do! Have a look at this link and see what you think.

I told you Andy; iirc they were used on MK1 Polos and MK1 Audi 80s, probably some other VAG models as well.

Yes Andy they were used on early Audi/VW models. When I took mine off it had the VAG stamp underneath.

I think someone told me at Swedish day that those plastic mirrors fitted to late model 96s, were also fitted to some Vws. Not sure if we're talking Beetles. of Golfs, or whatever.

I have the same mirrors on mine, and though I don't need one at the moment, it would be nice to know, if they were used on other cars.

I need that wing mirror. I have messaged the guy to see if he will break for parts, as nobody is going to be saving that one. No reply yet, a shame the car has ended up in the hands of some greedy chancer when it would of been useful for an enthusiast to strip for parts to help save other cars.
