Remotely, if someone has an old Hewland 6 box under the bench or being used as a doorstop I might have a customer. This is the box with a Hewland case and VW Beetle gears.

NO synchros and whiny straight cut gears? Not a good combo in a road car.

Alex
Purely morbid curiosity, but what type of Hewlands gearbox exactly would fit the 96?
What sort of money are we talking about for a decent second hand box, and how difficult is it to fit, ie what mods would be necessary?

ps The engine you sold me in 2014 is till chugging away nicely!!

Hi there, I have done a turbo and efi conversion on my saab95 v4, even after sourcing a rally/competition gearbox I'm still having issues. I'd be really interested in finding out more about the Hewland conversion as this is probably what I will be looking at next as a solution
