Even if I had to take out a mortgage to pay for it!

Cheers

You cannot use 1500 pistons with a 1700 crank as they will stick about 2 mm out of the block at TDC. You need pistons with lower compression height.

Con rods are the same. It’s just a longer stroke on the crank so the Conroe move further laterally and will hit the long skirt on 1500 pistons

Hi Rhys.
There something wrong with that Email address.
My mail system doesn't recognise it.
Should I use the RhysN one?
Cheers

Conrods are the same for 1.5 and 1.7.

Alex Thanks but not at that price.
Thanks Rhys, I’ll be in touch later.
Andy what sort are the Conrods?
Melle- patience is not one of my virtues
but I will try.
Cheers

I just got a set of 4, 0.49mm oversize pistons with conrods, for £10, on fleabay.
They've just arrived, at first look, they look fine.

Just in case for the future.....

No progress on the car Melle.

Note that both Skandix and Motomobil want your old one in return or you pay a fair bit extra. Being patient until you find a used one and having it reground locally may be cheaper.

Rhys, what happened to the 96 you bought?!

Sorry to off topic. Are there other piston options for a 1500 reborn ?
TTruckiePosted - 01 Nov 2017 : 20:44:21
if you go for a 1700 crank you will need new low waist pistons easiest way is Pinto 91mm high compression pistons. easy to get from places like Burton and cheaper than Colgne V6 pistons

Ouch !!
Even oversized pistons are an expensive upgrade
