Noise from a driveshaft. When investigating garage tells me the rear gearbox mount has come loose and the gearbox is sitting on the floorpan. Any idea how this could happen and what's involved to repair?

You can contact the club in English and they will reply. Also they now accept paypal if you request it. You will need to join the club but can opt for a guest membership which is cheaper as you don't get the magazine/mailshots.
I received this lot recently...free sweets and a free book included..

sorry Owen, I thought I had a spare, but just checked my (-3ºC) garage and nothing....

Keep an eye on Tradera, many helpful Swedes on there!

Owen

Use Transfer Wise to pay, when you want to make a transfer to a bank account in continental Europe.

It costs pennies, (unlike HSBC who want about £35!!!)I've used it several times.

It works very well.

you can join the club and buy parts

Looks like the Swedish parts are for their club members only.
Also complex payment arrangements for overseas.

I can't believe how rusty my Swedish is!
Anybody know how I contact the svenskasaabklubben.nordicshops site and get a price for shipping to England?
Are you involved in it Fuling; Johan?

AlexW:
Right, I have changed.

I guess
  -64 and 65-68 same stiffness. (2T)
The divinity is 3 welded nuts of 65-68.
68-80 (V4) is stiffer in the rubber than 2T
Otherwise, like 65-68 (2T)

The mount listed on the Swedish club site is a two stroke part, I think there is a difference between the 2 stroke part and the V4 part.
I had this problem when my v4 failed it's MOT on excess play on the rear gearbox mount. I had to remove engine and box just to find that the bolts holding the rear mount had come loose. Annoyingly I later found out that the gearbox mountings are nothing to do with the MOT and I should have queried the tester's authority to fail it.

EDIT:
2T (95,96 1965-1968, 2-Takt)
https://svenskasaabklubben.nordicshops.com/product.html/732404?category_id=14
2T (93,95,96 1956-1964)

I've seen that the tower / pin on the gearbox has broke off.
Not usual.

Nice find! They sell that mount for way less than anyone else I have seen.

Considering the amount of work entailed to take out the engine and gearbox, there is roughly a 0% chance I would recommend a used mount...!
