I have had a long standing issue with the fuel pump leaking around the main body split when the car has stood for a few months and started. Up to now I have found a few tweaks of all the screws around the body would stop it but not this time.

So I dug out a NOS fuel pump repair kit and used it to refurb the pump, easy enough except the fiddly bit holding 2 springs back whilst replacing the little circlip. However, all succesful and no more leaks.

You're very lucky having that refurb kit, and also having a pump of the type that can be overhauled.
