Hi I am based in Hampshire, drive diggers for a living, and am feeling guilty that although I really enjoy following everyone else's projects I have never gotten around to posting any pictures of my own efforts.
I purchased this 1972 Verona Green 96 about 5 years ago with the intention of giving it a quick tidy up and then using it. I have failed spectacularly to stick to this plan and instead dismantled the car completely! Having completed all the necessary welding, I had planned on getting a body shop to spray the car, but I have now strayed from this plan also and I am painting the car myself. This is the first project like this that I have taken on, and I feel I won’t know what my limitation are unless I have a bash at things.

This shed I am working in is something that I cobbled out of RSJ and box profile on the site of an old pigsty and the 4 post ramp is an ebay buy. I have taken some pictures of my project so far.

Are you still out and about in this Digger? Great project.

No it's Saab Midnight Blue, which I believe was used on 96s in 1979 for the Swedish Market. I chose it because I had a 99 the same colour in the 80s, which I always thought was really smart.

Beautiful car, and photos.
Is that colour the one known as Carolina Blue? (B 8)

What does the rear look like?

I have to confess to using a trimmer to sort the seats out, as my upholstery skills are very limited! Door cards are one thing, seats and piping are another thing altogether. The rear seat is a standard V4 item, whereas the front seats are from a 1967 V4 Sport I believe. According to the guy who sold me the seats, who was a real enthusiast, they were made for Saab by Reutter who later went on to become Recaro. Seats are very similar but not identical to the once used in the earlier Porsche 356s.

That looks great.
It's a really smart car.

Very nice indeed. All the better for being out in the snow too.
One of my main reasons why I love the 96 - people don’t appear to wrap their cars up in cotton wool. We’ve not had much snow here, so not much playtime.

Hi, the arrival of snow on Friday provided a irresistible opportunity to take Swampy out for a play. Unfortunately third and fourth gears had disappeared, but they returned when I adjusted the gearbox stay bar a bit. Also took the opportunity to take a few pictures.
