Good evening everyone

Due to family commitments I have decided to part with my SAAB 96. I am going to really miss it and want it to go to an enthusiast that can cherish it and give it the time it deserves.

The car is in dedicated dehumidified storage so not in a rush to sell.

Its a solid 96 with the following spec, some of which has been added since last pics

Engine
1710 with pinto pistons. Block was diamond bored to crank centreline at the same shop that does 6R4 engines. (around £450- but spot on!!)
Dynamically balanced crank with correct bob weights
V6 rods
Kent fast road cam
Hardened valve seats
Cross over manifold CT with jenvey throttle bodies and DTA management (Well over a grand in just these items)
Fuel tank converted for fuel injection
Lightened flywheel
New thicker core radiator
Alloy Rocker covers

Transmission standard but never given any trouble
Converted flywheel and clutch for diaphram.

New brake master cylinder
New brake calipers and discs plus good rear drums and new cylinders etc.

Full new sills both sides welded

New windscreen

Stainless steel bumpers

Compomotive alloy wheels

Dunlop sport tyres

Jetex exhaust

Sport and rally steering wheel

Custom built double adjustable shock absorbers

Only flaws

Little tear in headlining
Some lacquer come away from front drivers wing
Drivers door could do with reflatting as paintwork has sunk

I know prices have risen but I'm more interested in sensible offers from someone that will care for it. Also if the buyer ever sells - please would they consider me for first refusal as Im sure in the long term I'll regret this.

Ive just redone the throttle linkage to be more balanced and also changed the map to give some more resolution in the cruising rpm so it could do with an hour on the rolling road to finally setuo - I can organise and do this if needed.

Call me on 07957717393 if your interested!!

Thanks for looking!
Rob

I'd love to meet you and chat about the project.

I'm planneing eventually to do the same to mine so it would be good to hear the good, bad and ugly before starting!

Hi.
Think I was talking to you at the Taddy car show last year ? Would love a a ride in this, just to see what can be done with the V4. I’ve got a 1.7 crank in the garage and before I go to the expense of a new motor rebuild it would be nice to see whether it will impress me enough vs cost etc.
I’m near Ikea and will happily travel over.
