Dirtbiker | Posted - 07 Oct 2018 : 20:11:21 Hi All, Thinking about a new set of tyres for the 96. Was planning on some 165/80 R15 Firestone F560s. Thing is, I don't seem to be able to find any... Local tyre fitters can't get them and they are not listed on Longstone tyres website - although I thought they were there recently? I have always liked the look if the F560 - I bought some Toyos not so long ago which to me just don't "look" right. Any recommendations? What about these:

It'll be interesting to see a picture of that when its done. Still messing about with a 63 Morris Minor which hopefully will be back on the road in the near future. |
shoestring | Posted - 26 Feb 2019 : 13:11:09 Hi Peter, Good to hear from you. The saab is fine, currently fitting cheese grater grill and round headlights with the addition of a electric fan while I'm in that area. What are you driving around in now?
Cheers,
Barry |

Hi Barry
Just saw this. I noticed the bulges myself when I had the car and had them checked by a tyre guy as I was going to replace them. He said it was to do with the way the tyre is joined in the mold and itwasn't anything to worry about as the rubber was still in good condition. Mind that was just before I sold the car to you. Hope XMS is still running well.

melle | Posted - 11 Oct 2018 : 09:31:03 I switched to Hankook 165s (not sure of type) when my last set of Firestone F560s finally gave in. The Hankooks look good, they perform very well under all conditions and they're reasonably priced. I also have Hankooks on the 900, can't fault them either. If anything, don't buy Vredestein Sprint Classic tyres; they're a horrible tyre in the wet, pretty dangerous if you ask me. Their classic winter tyres are great though, although, unsurprisingly, a bit noisy.

Dirtbiker | Posted - 10 Oct 2018 : 21:23:03 Hi Iain, Thanks for the advice. My local tyre place can get these so I'll have a chat to them. Cheers Gareth |
Iain G | Posted - 07 Oct 2018 : 21:00:13 Last 2 sets I bought were Vredestein TTrac2 bought on the bay for about £50-£60 each delivered. Very impresseed with them. Quiet and grippy.
