Fliptop | Posted - 01 Jun 2017 : 18:54:51 Can anyone confirm how deep a filter you can get away with on a 28/36 under the V4 bonnet? I'm probably going to use the 2bbl inlet manifold but may go with the SAH adaptor for ease/speed, at least in the interim...so ideally looking for both measurements!

JK59 | Posted - 29 Jan 2018 : 21:37:38 Hi There. I am in the middle of the same process and am looking for the clearance height. I have an option on a Racepro chrome filter which comes in 45, 65 & 85mm. Which one fits??? Help! John K. |

melle | Posted - 30 Jun 2017 : 14:16:36 That won't work so easily on a DCD because of its height, the DGV in the photo is a fair bit lower. I recently started modifying a Solex 32TDID filter housing to make it fit on a DCD, the carb needs to be recessed into the bottom part to make the filter clear the bonnet. It's a bit hard to see in the pic, but under the round plate is a ring that raises it by about 15mm, the round tin is to create extra room for the housing to clear the carb's fuel filter cap:
I'll post a better pic when done.

johnc | Posted - 01 Jun 2017 : 20:03:20 Hi Al , I put a webcon one on , generic foam lynx Ramflow type. Fitted no problem on a SAH adaptor . Webcon still advertising them. http://www.webcon.co.uk/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=185&cat=Weber+DCD Quite a bit cheaper has given me no issues . Best of luck John |
