I recently picked up a 73 96 that had suffered an underbonnet fire. The cause soon became obvious; the carb inlet fitting had come loose.

This is really a repair than a resto, as the pre-existing condition of the car was immaculate. Basically some melted plastics, hoses and wiring. The paint in the engine bay escaped unharmed, however the bonnet needs refinishing, as does one of the guards due to a small preexisting imperfection.

I have taken the engine/trans out to assess whats needed. the engine itself is ok, except for various bits of plastic that have become molten and various houses burnt through. All superficial.

I have most of the bits required, except for an engine harness, which i havent fully assessed the damage on. A second hand carb might come in use, if anyone has one spare!

I'll post up some photos as I get it fixed, but in the interim here are a few 'Before' pics....

Regards
Drew Bedelph

Hi I have all the parts you need but don’t know how you would get them. I guess the postage would be very costly
