So rather than watch a bunch of rubbish TV I thought I'd spend a couple of evenings redrawing my loom from Haynes' 40 year old mono blotting paper effort!!! (warning - some beer may have been consumed in the making of this...)
It may be of benefit to some, obviously later cars got more "toys" (heated seats, headlight wipers etc.) but I think the basics are fairly consistent. I've made the stroke weights of the wires the same thickness as what's been quoted in the Manual (1.0 is 1pt, etc.) sometimes difficult to see until you get into the thicker wires. White is represented with a grey dashed line.
Let me know if I've made any mistakes, I was questioning my sanity at certain points!
Now that's a very useful diagram you've made there! Would be great if it were added to the "technical" section of this forum. I can also upload it to www.saabv4.com if you wish.
This was specifically copied from the Haynes Manual for RHD 1971, but there are (as far as I can see) only minor differences for a few years after that (single horn, heated seats)
so I found the electrical gremlin that was causing the lights to go crazy - Autosparks had crossed two wires over on a multi pin plug (so going through the pain of redrawing the wiring diagram was worth it!) on the diagram I redrew it's the multipin plug just below the main fusebox, they has the grey and blue on the left crossed over
