What are these for? Thought I knew all about V4's.

It's the closest thing to fitting a vernier camshaft sprocket to a V4. Because the camshaft gear is mounted on a woodruff key and one central bolt this is the only way of being able to slightly change the camshaft timing for precise adjustment.Has anyone bought a set?

My pal has just bought a set, have never checked valve timing, has anyone else and found it to be a concern?

Most cams are pretty good, but you can fine tune to get max lift at the correct point. Only really any good if you are building a high performance car and have all new valve train components. If you are going to this level then you want new rocker shafts and rockers (probably a few extra). You then need to measure the actual lift on each valve with a vernier and make sure it happens at the correct time.
