Trying to get our 96 ready for its MOT, tested the wipers, and the linkage rod under the dash popped off the little ball joint.

After figuring that out, i popped it back on again, and it promptly disconnected itself again 30 seconds later.

Are the bushes themselves replaceable/is the a universal option, or do i have to go searching for a new linkage?

Ta!

Mine keeps doing that too, if anyone comes up with a fix - I'd like to hear it too!

Hi ToGGoT.

I had the same problem. solved it by making some new rods with 6mm throttle linkage bit and threaded rod.
Few searches eBay should sort you out

try quick release fittings from places like www.springfixlinkages.com

I drilled out the weld on the ball and fitted the threaded ball then got a stainless threaded rod and a left and right handed quick release fitting..... Bob's your uncle, not more popping off!

if you measure the ball you may find the quick release may fit straight on, mine were damaged so replaced them.
I'll try and dig a couple of photos out
