Clive H had a heater valve for sale..Derek has snapped it up..

It got me thinking and I have to ask Derek and all..I have a NOS heater valve and several used valves...without spending too much time today I had a quick look and at a glance the only way I could see you could get to this seal would be to unfold the seam around the output side of the valve body..is that correct?

Yes, you have to open the tabs to release the pipe section from the backing plate.

Yes, beware that these tabs are rather brittle and prone to breaking off. Probably only able to bend/rebend them once.
