Can anyone point me to a diagram on the internet so that I can reassemble a brake master cylinder from a 1972 V4? Haynes seems to have the wrong diagram
Also, I assumed it was the master cylinder when my foot went to the floor but Haynes tells me that could be a leaking slave cylinder. Don't know how that could be as there are two separate circuits/pipes. Any advice anybody.
Turns out to be a leaking rear brake hose. The way it works is that if the pedal travels to the floor and if the level in the master cylinder is low you top it up and the brakes work for a while (because one line is working) until so much fluid leaks that the working line doesn't work anymore and the pedal travels to the floor again. Obvious really but I had to go through changing the seals on the master cylinder to relearn that! On the other hand, if you top it up and the pedal still travels to the floor then you need to renew the seals in the master cylinder.
