Yes perhaps I ought to. It would be handy to be able to learn how to spray at amateur level for other future jobs.

You need a sprayer with a water trap apparently and I could do with a compressor for Dinitrolling! A quiet compressor is about £1600 ouch! Too much for me, not sure how those supposedly quiet compressors from machine mart are.

Where abouts are you Christopher? I have a belt drive decent size one in my stuff that I brought over from NZ which you could borrow if it was convenient.

Very kind but West Sussex unfortunately but borrowing one is a good idea. Should be able to borrow one locally from Wheelynutz/Nellium or Joethescoot from the other forum.

Don't think I used a water trap, although I may have one fitted now? I had to fit a new external pressure regulator a while back and can't remember if I fitted one at the same time.
You will be surprised at the quality of finish you can achieve after a bit of practice.

I am going to practice on the boot I think! lots of layers, lots of rubbing back etc over the summer hols should give a CHEAP finish

The main work is kind of happening on the other 96 but I am getting bits ready to go on Dotty. Cleaning bits mainly. This is not Dotties grill but it is nicer so will be going on instead now it is polished up. I can,t afford a £250 USA spec for her, she has to be done on a really tight budget so the original style grill will go on at the moment.

The rally replica is also probably out of the window as some road rally organisers don,t like rally stickers on the car so I am going to go down a more individual SAAB 96 rally look I.e. 96 on the doors with SAAB plane logo underneath (Bruce Turk style) and possible SAAB logo on bonnet with plane again underneath... Need to do a mock up to see how it looks first!

Had an impromptu visit from a planning officer after a complaint was made about the amount of cars I have (usually 6) on my drive. Within a few minutes he said he couldn,t see a problem and I said I have one around the back as well which is Dotty and he said that was no problem either.

With this all in mind I have dug out a parking bay slot for Dotty at the side/front of the house . Just to make the complainent appreciate SAABs more!!

Doubt it, my SAABS all together wouldn,t even add up to buy one new small car LOL In fact the annual insurance on our two daily drives is pretty well equal to the values of the cars!

My little plot is in between neighbours who have 4 acres, Bentleys, E Types etc so little ratty Dotty out the front will be frowned upon. Not sure about a 1930's Bentley but a SAAB 96 is definitely a more qualitative car than any E Type!

1st picture...get rid of the cover and that could be played with (photoshopped) to make it look 20+ years old.
2nd..although it's a modern..that really should be my car as it has my initials.
3rd...the people who complained..screw them...life is far to short.
