| Not had much time to work on the 96 recently but next winter there will be lots happening including work to the now removed engine. I will be cleaning and painting the block, rocker covers and sump anyway; I'm considering getting the flywheel lightened, having unleaded inserts in the head and bigger valves....has anyone had this work done recently? Whom did you use?

Any decent engineering shop will fit the hardened valve inserts for you, to allow you to run on unleaded, without additives. No point in me telling you where I got mine done, since you seems to be in Gloucestershire, and I'm in Fife.
Malbrad do upgraded heads with bigger valves, and hardened inserts I think.

| Malbrads do exchange heads, with hardened seats and bigger valves, but they ain't cheap!

| What do Malbrads heads cost? Last time I got a quote to just add hardened seats, it was upwards of £350!
Decided it was cheaper to keep some petrol additive in the car instead. | |

| As Andy already said, any (automotive) engineering shop should be able to do this work. I suppose Malbrads farm out machine work and charge their customers a little extra for the service?

Just looked up the price on Malbrads website = £654/pair (big valve/hardened seats) plus exchange surcharge. I'll stick to additive too !
