Hi chaps,

My gearbox for the 96 l am currently restoring has a damaged end plate in that the hole for the bolt that secures the gearbox mount has a damaged end/thread. I am considering the option of replacing the end plate with a good one and would appreciate advice on whether fitting another end plate is a simple or difficult operation.....all comments appreciated.......thanks Paul

Don't know about the difficulty, but this may help if you don't have a replacement. I am not, and have no connection with, the seller.

Hi Paul, the rails for the gear selectors are screwed into the end plate, unbolting the plate you will then need to slide out the rails, fit to the new plate and refit. Not too difficult if you have a good manual, and obviously much easier on a bench with the boy split from the engine! You'll need a new gasket for both covers.
