| Well, last Autumn I spotted something on the internet a long way away that I liked the look of.
After a few days of mulling it over I contacted the owner just out of curiosity. A few Facetimes later and I trusted him, we were both into similar stuff, bikes etc.
I didn't have any spare cash in the rust fund so put my 95 up for sale before I had a chance to do all the jobs I wanted to get done. As it happened it sold quickly so next was the turn of the K75S (BMW Bike for those not into two wheels!) and that was gone in a flash too.
Time for a bank transfer and by Christmas I was checking this every day.

| Derek - I was a bit disappointed to discover it is only a dot on a line and not a real time simulator.
Still checked it every day though!

| I have always liked the idea of an early 95V4 in a light colour. Right now life is very busy so I wasn't really looking for a big project - in fact I wasn't looking for a project at all...
But sometimes the 'right' car pops up and this was that car. Also, it doesn't need any major work so is something I can tinker with and use rather than take to bits and spend years welding!
Loading on to a trailer in the middle of the night in Utah - the seller was super helpful and not fazed by having to get his son to stay up late and meet the delivery driver.
At the docks in Southampton.
And back in sunny Plymouth.

| I feel a future Saab Enthusiasts article coming along!
It would be great to feature this in a future edition, would you be keen?

| AWESOME.
Bought some Soccerballs and a 1.7 crank in Utah - I wonder ?? Most helpful chap. Boxed everything up for me and even dropped it down to the local DHL depot.

| Very nice Betsy.
Back in the day (Early 70s), my mate had a Cheesgrater, 1967 96. TRA 400F, how anal is that, I remember the plate? He was the one who got the first SAAB 96, that started me on SAAB 96s....
Melle. Depending on the weather, (ie if it was reasonably clear, though not necessarily warm), I might make the haul down in October.

| Hi All,
Thanks for the comments!
Simon - yes, definitely. I plan to try and contact the original owners which would make it a really interesting read. The guy that sold it to me had owned it for ten years and had just used it in the summer as a hobby to tinker with. He lives in Provo which has snow so the car was garaged over the winter. Before that a family had owned it from new purchasing it from Bradshaw Auto in St George, Utah then moving to Salt Lake City. All of the family's kids learnt to drive in the SAAB!
James - yep, 67. Is 2020 the year your 68 is back on the road?
Betsy67 - different guy I reckon. The seller loved this car but I think was a one SAAB guy!
Andy - I wonder if TRF 400F survived...?
Cheers

| nice find, what did the shipping cost? (if you don't mind sharing) and where did it leave the US from, NY/NH?
I do love the interiors of the earlier cars compared to my 71, they'd gone all "black and modern" in the 70's, but I love how the dash carries around to the door trims in yours - elegant

| Cruel Dirtbiker, Cruel.
2020 would be good as I am taking flak from all sides.
Lovely car that you have there. Same dash as mine ( 1968) and another left hooker added to the UK Fleet.
Cheers
