I think I have one, a bit rusty. I don't want any money for it, but the catch is that I'm in Fife.
How quickly do you need it?
I say "I think", because it's a different design to the one I have on my car.
Once this storm blows through I'll post a photo.
As I say, I don't want any dosh for it, but it's a long way from Fife to Bristol!
You could try the "SAAB Treks" section on UKSAABS.....

Hi Andy.
That's a kind offer, thank you.
So I just need to find a way to get it to Bristol.
I'm not familiar with the "Saab Treks" section, I'll look it up.

Thanks again for your generosity.

No worries, someone just gifted me a nearly new washer bottle, so swings and roundabouts!!

The tow bar was sold to me on E bay as being for a SAAB 96, but I have never actually tried to fit it.
If I post a photo of it tomorrow, others should be able to chip in and confirm that it will fit a 96.
If you can wait till next year, I'll be down for Swedish day and Saabfest.
If the Shepton Mallet show goes ahead in February, I might be down for that. My wife and I usually go down to Bath for that weekend, but I can find no reference to it being on this coming year.
"Saab Treks" is great. It's under "Saab Meetings and Events"
I once took 2 SAAB 900 wheels south to Manchester, and dropped them off on my way to Swedish Day.

Thanks Andy.
A photo would be great and I can compare it to the drawings in the manual. I have a welder 'n' things, so might be able to make it fit even it if isn't perfect.
The Saab Treks thing does indeed look brilliant.
What a fine community of Saab enthusiasts.

Photos below.
If you can find someone heading south from Edinburgh, or perhaps Perth/Stirling I could take it to them. All of these places are only about an hour from my hoose.

Chipping in as requested ... I had one of these towbars fitted to my old Hussar Blue 96 MY72 back in the 90s, it was bolted through the bodywork to three plates inside the car - one across the rear of the boot and one each side of centre of the floorpan for the arms. Always seemed more substantial than the other type I've seen which just fits at the rear of the car. May also have been used on 95s ?
Derek

Aye, the one I eventually fitted to my car is bolted across the boot floor, just in front of where the petrol tank sits, with a wide bar, and also with a shorter bar at the extreme rear of the car, just behind where the tow ball sits.
I'm only towing a wee trailer, not some muckle great caravan!!!
Problem now is for Steve to get it from the Fife area, down to Bristol.

Hi Derek,
I just saw your comment.
That's really useful to know what support plates were used with this towbar.
Andy, I have posted in UKsaabs to see if someone can help with transport to Bristol. Fingers crossed.
