I just had my 96 Soccerballs redone and on getting them back realised one of the centre caps is shagged.

Two questions:

- are the ones on eBay US a good fit for the originals?
- how are they retained? The old ones look to have silicon sealer around the edge.

Advice appreciated.

Hi Drew
Blue or black caps?
The blue ones are held in place with a metal clip leaf spring thing…

Thanks, they are the blue and silver ones.

I'm not even sure that what I have are originals - they look like a translucent resin painted wheel silver and the Saab logo stuck in the centre.

Is there a picture of the spring clips anywhere? I might have them.....somewhere. I think I'll just go ahead and buy some new ones!

Forgot to ask - do the new ones come with the spring clips?

Hi,
I bought a set of the blue ones from the states for my Cromodora wheels but they didn’t fit. That aside they appear to be good quality but don’t come with the clips.
Cheers

I've gone ahead and purchased a new set which I reckon are from the same eBay seller.

Sounds like the clips could be an issue - anyone have a picture of one?

Cheers

You don't really need to hose clips to keep them in place unless the centre hole has been widened. They fit snugly. I have never had an issue in the 22 years that I have owned the Sonett. Should they come loose they fall inwards so you'll never lose one.
