I must be having a thick day. I have posted an advert in V4s for sale which was a Word file with three images, and the images don't display in the advert. I have tried copying the original JPEG files and pasting but still no joy.

Can anyone please advise what I need to do?

Thanks
Paul

Hi Paul,

First - set up a (free) account with www.photobucket.com or similar . . .

Then upload your images to your account (keep the images below 650 pixels wide at 72dpi) - once uploaded there are 4 links listed below each uploaded image . . .

You need the 'IMG Code' - copy it and then go back to this forum/post - click on the 'insert image' button (it's the icon with a mountain scene on it) - you should get the following code appear

(img)(/img)

Paste the IMG Code from Photobucket within these brackets - BUT delete the caps version of the code (from Photobucket) ie: (IMG) and (/IMG) parts.

Hit the Preview button and it should appear.

Sorry if this is lengthy - but persevere, once you've got your photobucket account - you can add images very easily - like they say - it's easy when you know how!

Good luck and reply to this post if you have any problems!

Simon

Unfortunately it's the same for any forum - otherwise the forum would get clogged up with peoples pics.

Many thanks to Simon aka "UK Sub" for the following...

OK, for Flickr users...

Select the image you want to use:

Select the 'Share this photo' button (looks like an arrow)

then select 'BBCode' - this is where it gets tricky...

select the size you want to display (eg: 640 x 480) and copy the line of code in the box beneath.

This what happens when you do...
[url=https://flic.kr/p/6NwB5t][/url][url=https://flic.kr/p/6NwB5t]Saab 92 and 93 International Saab meeting Holland 09[/url] by [url=https://www.flickr.com/people/60805221@N00/]kowarler8[/url], on Flickr

But you really only need the section that starts 'img' and ends in '/img' (including brackets) and it should look like this...

Hope that helps, perhaps we could make a 'sticky' for Flcikr and Photobucket users - I'm sure I produced something similar for photobucket users not so long ago?

Cheers,

Simon

Can this forum be configured so you can upload pics direct from laptop/iPhone? The other forums I use are able to.

I think you can use http://imgur.com/ They offer BB-code. If I'm right the forum is using the BB-format.

Photobucket has just closed it's doors on sharing photos unless you pay $400 per year...basically DON'T USE PHOTOBUCKET as you could find in the near future that they no longer exist.

Photbucket seems to be allowing us to post photos from "Photobucket", again, without paying their ludicrous fees.

Here's a free photo post from Photobucket!

I'm struggling to add photos to my post. I have downloaded to Flickr (that bit wasn't too hard), but I can't transfer from Flickr to here, despite reading the instructions above.
