After 3 years without a classic Saab, I'm now back in the fold!

I've missed getting my hands dirty and my knuckles scraped (and asking for lots of technical help)! So once I saw this 'beauty' I had to bring her home...

brief stop at Watford Gap, having given up going cross-country I rejoined the motorway, even with a dodgy clutch, no tickover and a stuck-on handbrake!

Backed it down the drive (while the missus was away) and the dog seems to have claimed ownership, not entirely sure how she managed to get herself in there...

She got home before me last night, I got home to find her fists on her hips looking very unimpressed!

Despite appearances the car is quite solid, it's mostly cosmetic (that's what I've told Amy anyway).

That looks great, almost as though it could have been designed as a factory spec option. SAAB may have missed a simple trick there.

Give it a lick of Indian Yellow (orange) and it would be superb

Ace! I like it.

Never mind, bruises are cosmetic too and both skin and metal can be healed. I'm sure you put up a good fight.

Just needs a cover to keep the rain out of the fuel tank bay and dickie seat! (the dog might not like it though)
SAAB really did miss a trick here..that looks "factory spec"

Thanks for the kind comments - Roger deserves most of them for building it in the first place - I'm just putting in the finishing touches.

Looking to build a hinged hard-cover for the bed, it's been open to the elements for a long time! I'll cover it with a tarp for now...

That is such a great idea - there was a lovely stroker "pickup" in Spa a couple of years ago; I'm sure most people saw it. Have some photos somewhere. I think that's got to be a future project for me, too. Can't quite bring myself to do it to "Blue" - at the moment - but it's an idea that might just grow on me ..... maybe I need to look out for another early-ish 95 to get to work on. Tee hee ....

Got my old SOC mags out of the loft today and came across this from 1995. The thinking then was that SAAB should have done one... or Graham Mac donald [;)

Sorry don't know why my edit/delete button doesn't work to change the IMG to lower case Maybe a mod can edit it to bring the picture up and make sense of the teext.

EDIT - now done

Just remove the 'IMG' (in capitals) from either end of that link and it should work perfectly. Leave the 'img' in lowercase though.

Thanks for the link, I wonder if Martin May has seen my one?
