Made some progress recently. Fuel tank 'well' painted and fixed tank back in place. New sender sealed and working...

Trial fit of two stroke door card, I've got the door release and window winder arms, just need to source the plastic collars that fit under them, and also the split pin that holds the handles in place...

Representing Saab at the Petrol heads Pinewood Nurseries car show.

Initially parked next to an El Camino (what my car dreams of being)...

and then this monster parked next to me!

(I gave the Lambo plenty of room too)

Been awhile since I last update this thread - here's some pics of what we've been up to...

Homeward bound from Swedish Day with a 96 roof section strapped to the pickup - like you do.

On display at the Prescott Hillclimb show - very close to my old orange 95

“Hooning” up the hill - felt fast - looked slow!

Selling my wares...

…if anyone wants a greetings card, let me know

Popped over to Belgium for the Saab Festival

Spa was just up the road, so made sense to check it out.

At the show - parked next to Tony’s old 95

Small argument with a tank ;)

At a local car show, when the evening were still light.

Doggo sticking her out the window for the first time, she sneezed a lot!

Another car show, another enormous truck to park next to.

Parked up at the Bicester Sunday Scramble - I can’t recommend this show enough! £5 entry, park where you like and see some amazing cars and snoop around the restoration workshops and warehouses.

Someone on Instagram suggested this name (after 'El Camino') and it kind of stuck.

More news and presumably photos to follow in the New Year.

You certainly get around Simon.

Fantastic pictures of a great car, thanks for posting.

I will have to replace the tyres on my 96 at some point. Those whitewalls look great.
Where did you source those ?

Cheers

Hi James, I probably got them on ebay - they are made by Atlas, so just look up 15" Atlas whitewall.

I was told to fit them on old tyres, as the oil leaks out of new tyres and can make the whitewalls go brown at the edges. I didn't listen and mine have gone brown, so I'll be getting a new set at some point.

Hi Simon ,

Thanks for the information. I didn't realise that they were inserts. I like those

Might treat myself to one of your 96 shirts.
Where can I buy one ?

Cheers

Thanks Simon

Looks like the Car motif shirt in XL size is sold out.

Will you be offering more at a later date or do I have to loose some mass and fit into a L size ! ?

Cheers

James

Hi James,

We do have some new stock in if you're interested - and we have a new website since I last posted;

www.shootfromthehip71.co.uk

I'm taking our stock to IntSaab this weekend, so if anyone wants to reserve anything - let me know.
