| started on the replacement wheels for the truck...
Apart from me being covered in rust (and most of the garage) after wire brushing it with a drill - they came up pretty well. A covering of kurust should see them protected while I work on the others.

| I would take the tyres off and also treat the inside. If you have the possibility it's worth sandblasting them.

| I had my last set sandblasted and powder coated - cost me £25 a wheel, which wasn't too bad.
There's a really local company to me that offers the same service - I'll ask if they do wheels and how much it'll cost.
Problem with powder-coating is, I can't decide what colour to do them - I'm thinking red, but may have to settle with standard silver. | |

| No! Don't powder coat them!! Paint looks so much better than powder coating. £25.00 per rim is very cheap by the way.
Glad to see you have the older type rims now, they look so much better than the ones that came with the car.

| I prefer them too - I even had a set of Cromodoro alloys on my old 95, but swapped them back to these wheels in the end.
Thought they looked pretty good powder coated though...

| Does anyone know if 2-stroke rear lenses will fit on the V4 buckets.

| The panel is different on the stroker..the early lights are smaller so you may have to add a bit of extra steel to make them look correct on a later car. I have the early and late cars sitting side by side in the workshop so will size them up when I get into the workshop this morning.

| Si..good news. I thought there was s difference in the rear panel but they are the same..you can fit the old units into a later car..the lighting position changed for the lights so yoy may have to change the wiring a little but they are a direct swap...pics later as my camera is playing up.

| Bit of an update, the pickup is still in the expert hands of Graham MacDonald. So far he's fixed the clutch, is finishing the rear brakes (inside of drums had gone rusty, brake lines corroded and handbrake cables seized, basically they hadn't been working for some time!). He also noticed the rubber fuel line as it enters the engine bay was severely corroded and was oozing petrol!
Having seen the glowing report on accuspark, I've asked to him to order one for mine too.
Hoping to have it back in time for the Bewdley meet.
Then the bodywork can begin, it's booked into my brothers workshop next month, I'm sure he can't wait to see another of my rusty old Saabs!

Today's mission - turn bumper irons upside down and fit cheesegrater grill
Had an idea that this 99 roof rack might fit the pickup bed - but I'm not sure...
just need to wire it up and fit the bonnet release | |
