| Hi it's a while since I posted anything but the project is progressing . The car has been stripped the engines and gearbox removed and work started. Since January we have spent half of most weeks welding and metal bashing and have now finished the major metalwork . New front floors, back valence and loads of patching. As you will know anywhere the metal is joined it rots so all the corners and jacking points needed repairs. The windscreen wasn't too bad just small repairs in the bottom corners. Luckily for us the main structure of the car is strong, main sills, cross members and doors are all good. The doors continued to open properly even with half the front floor missing. We are now onto tidying up some of the rougher areas with lead loading and trial fitting the wings and tailgate. When the tailgate shuts it's like Arkwright's till! The springs are a devil to fit and obviously need further adjustment. The next work will be tidying up the wings and sorting mounting for our leather 9000 seats. The others were absolutely worn out. We are still aiming to have it on the road this year but it may be as a rolling restoration.
Cheers Dave |

| Hi guys my apologies for the lack of an update on this thread. I am not great with computers. If anyone is interested there is an article in the V4 section in the current edition of Driver the SOC magazine. It's on that old fashioned paper stuff although obviously some of it was moved electronically. | |

| It looks fantastic, but I'd rather have Doive's V4 van.

WOW that's a blast from the past. I wondered where it had gone. Last time I saw it it was on the back of a trailer on the M25. The resto seems to be holding up well but you can,t tell from the pics and the underside is plastered in underseal! Surprised nobody has bothered to put on a new dash top... wonder what the reserve is... So glad previous owners have not ruined it by putting on those nasty replica minilites on it. Ruins a two stroke I think...

I haven't looked in any detail (whether it's original or not), but might be worth a look...
How's yours coming along? | |

| Hi the van is pretty much ready to start putting it back together. We have been sidetracked for a few months on another 95 shell. Hope to put the engine and gearbox back in a couple of weeks. If that goes ok and we can get it to run would hope for an mot by the Summer although we may run it without carpets for a while so we can see if it's watertight. I'll try to get a photo on when it's reasonably together. | |

| It runs, after a week of messing about with electrical and fuel issues I won't bore you with finally started about three. Lots to do yet in the engine bay but it runs! I have some photos my son put on the thread on the other channel-UKS but I will get him to put some on here next-when I can pin him down. | |

| Hi folks sorry it has been a while since I posted but I have been busy with car stuff and side issues like a son with a new house. The good news is the van has an mot and is on the road although not finished. The bad news is I still can't put photos on here. If you are interested Mal Espin has kindly put some on UKsaabs and I have put some on Facebook as it helpful to simple people like me. Anyway it is what it is. Not perfect by a long way definitely not original but a basket case turned into a useable vehicle. | |

| I would also like to thank the people who have helped with advice at tricky points. Melle ,Fliptop ,John -Saab and Martin at Jamsaab have all made contributions at vital points. Suppose we'd better give some thought on what to do with the yellow car now, apart from putting the engine back together which is fairly obvious. | |
