Hi
Does anyone know of reference drawings or photos that show the layout of how the body panels all join in the area of the front bulkhead to floor to engine undertray to front sills. Much of mine has been lost with corrosion and then past MOT plating but I am trying to replicate the original layout where possible , some of the project posts have been a great help but it is still difficult to see which way some of the panels are laid up prior to welding.
Many thanks Tom.

You'll find what you're looking for in the factory manual, you can download it here: http://www.saabv4.com/index.php/saab-factory-manuals/saab-v4-factory-workshop-manual-english/

Many thanks for that Melle, still struggling to see from the manual the way the panels are assembled ie. does the floor extend forward from the bulkhead to then weld to the engine undertray which fits underneath that protruding lip?

I've been working on the bulkhead/ floor area of my 96 today, hope below pic answers some of your questions. I'm more of a pragmatist than a purist, so I'm not too worried about replicating the original panels. Where possible I avoid double skinning, even if that is how it was originally designed. I'm convinced Saab only did it this way to facilitate production.

Hi Melle
Many thanks for the diagram that is exactly what I needed and clarifies the way the panels were originally assembled. Having spent all day getting covered in rust and underseal I agree with you about having too many layers welded together a sure bet for more trouble in the future.
Many thanks Tom.
